Borrowing Laptops
Wired networking
Wired connections for ResNet are located at tables in the Messinger Reading Room on the 2nd floor of Rush Rhees Library and at the ITS Center on the ground floor of Rush Rhees Library. You will need to provide your own network cable.
Wireless networking
The Wireless Network is available throughout the libraries. To use the network, follow the instructions on the ITS Wireless page. To connect to the Internet using a laptop or handheld device, current students, faculty and staff need a NetID and a wireless card. Visitors may request a Guest NetID at the Rush Rhees Library Circulation Desk or at the Carlson Library Circulation Desk.
Electrical outlets
Electrical outlets for laptops can be found in the following areas:
- Rush Rhees Reference at columns
- Rush Rhees levels A & B near study carrels
- Rush Rhees level 3 at columns
- Rush Rhees Great Hall in the floor
- Business & Government Information Library
- Periodical Reading Room (two at each table)
- POA library
- Carlson 3rd floor in the floor near carrels
- Carlson columns on each floor often have outlets
Laptop locks
Never leave your laptop unattended and unsecured even for a minute. Laptop locks may be borrowed from Rush Rhees and Carlson circulation desks.
