Borrow Materials

MMC Collections


  • The Multimedia Center collection includes DVDs, videocassettes, and permanent language reserve items, including language textbooks, audiocassettes and CDs and language learning materials.
  • The Film and Media Studies Special Collection is a restricted loan collection that circulates to River Campus faculty and graduate students who have obtained special permission. Items from the FMS collection are available for viewing inside the Multimedia Center for those patrons without borrowing privileges.

 

MMC Borrowing Privileges


  • Only current students, faculty, staff, and spouse proxy borrowers with a current UR ID are eligible to borrow DVDs and videocassettes.
  • Courtesy borrowers, including UR alumni, are permitted to borrow audiocassettes and mixed media materials, with the exception of materials including DVDs or videocassettes.
  • Reserve materials must be requested at the MMC Circulation Desk and can be borrowed for two hours. They must be used in the Multimedia Center.
  • Reference books and some language materials on permanent reserve do NOT circulate outside the MMC.
  • FMS Special Collection material circulates to River Campus faculty and select grad students only. Other students, faculty and staff may view these items in the Multimedia Center.

*There are no overdue fines on videos and DVDs, unless the item is 2 weeks overdue; at such time the item will be designated "lost" and the patron will incur a $50 fine. This fine will be removed upon the return of the DVD.


Suspension of Privileges


Borrowing privileges at all UR River Campus Libraries will be automatically suspended when:

 

  • Fines accrue to $15.00 or more.
  • An item is 14 days overdue
  • A reserve item is 3 days overdue
  • A recalled item is overdue Unpaid bills will be reported to the Bursar or other appropriate authority.
