Robbins Library Shield

The shield that we use as an icon for the Robbins Library represents Chaucer's coat of arms, as depicted in John Stowe's [1561] and Thomas Speght's [1598] editions of Chaucer's works. Facsimiles of both books are in Rare Books and Special Collections.
