Archival Guides

 


Printed guides - Rush Rhees Library owns a number of printed guides to Russian archives such as Patricia Grimsted's Archives of Russia (Rhees Reference Stacks call no. CD1710 .A76 2000). Others can be located by searching the Voyager Catalog by subject under "Archives Russia" and "Archives Soviet."

  • Meeting of Frontiers (Library of Congress, National Library of Russia and others) - An extensive collection of of digitized books, manuscripts, maps, photos, sheet music and much more from a partnership of institutions.

 

  • Beyond the Pale: the History of Jews in Russia (Joke Kniesmeyer and Daniel Cil Brecher) - An illustrated history of Jews in Russia, with over 400 historical photographs. The online version of an original exhibit that has toured Russia since 1995.

 

  • Images of St. Petersburg (Churakov Collection, National Library of Russia) - Hundreds of postcard images of pre-revolutionary St. Petersburg between 1900 and 1941 from the library's collections. Browse by time period or location.
