How can I get an item someone else has checked out?

All books may be recalled from any borrower and will be due 1 week from the recall date. 
    Only UR students, faculty and staff have recall privileges.  Courtesy borrowers may not
    recall books, but they may place holds on books.  Recalls may be placed on-line using the "Place Requests" option in the
    Voyager Catalog or at any UR library.

How can I borrow Reserves material?
Most reserve items may be borrowed for 2 hours, a few have longer loan periods such as
    4 hours, 1,3,or 7 days. Reserve materials borrowed from POA Library must
    be returned to the POA service desk.

Can I borrow non-circulating materials?
A   Some non-circulating materials, including reference books may be borrowed for 2 hours with the
     permission of the librarian. Ask at the POA service desk.


Can I return materials to any UR library?
A  Most POA Library Books may be returned to any UR Library.  Exceptions to this include:
    reserve materials
    current journal issues
    reference materials
    which must be returned directly to POA Library.
    Until items become 30 days overdue they can be renewed online, at any UR library
    or by phone (585-275-4469).

How can I renew my library materials?
A   Renewals can be done online or at any UR library. Most POA Library books may be
     renewed an unlimited number of times unless  another borrower places a recall.
     Print journals and reserve materials have limited or no renewals.

Are there any fines or fees?
A   Regular loans: We do not assess overdue fines for regular loans .After an item is overdue 30 days,
      the library charges the replacement cost (list price; or, if out of print - $40.00 plus
      a processing fee ($10.00). These fees will be waived once the materials are brought
      back to the library for renewal or return.
      Recalled items: $1.00/day to a maximum of $10
      Reserves: $1.00/hour for 2 hr loans, $1.00/day for 1,3, or 7 day loans to a maximum of $30.


How can I pay a fine?
A  Fines may be paid at the Rush Rhees Library Q&i or the Carlson Library Q&i
    using cash or personal check.  If the total is more than $10.00 students may choose to have the fines
    transferred to their term bill.

 

Why have my borrowing privileges been suspended?
A  Borrowing privileges at all UR River Campus Libraries are automatically suspended when:
          Fines accrue to $30.00
          An item is 30 days overdue
          A recalled item is overdue
