Kelly Miller

Associate Dean for Learning and Research Services at the University of Miami Libraries

Kelly Miller is the Associate Dean for Learning and Research Services at the University of Miami Libraries in Coral Gables, Florida. She is also the inaugural Director of the Libraries’ Mindfulness and Well-Being Programs and a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher (MMTCP), who leads weekly mindfulness meditation sessions for the campus community.  Kelly earned an MA and PhD in Slavic Languages and Literatures from the University of Michigan. In 2005, she was awarded a Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) Postdoctoral Fellowship that brought her into libraries. Since 2005, she has worked in research libraries, including at the University of Virginia and UCLA. She is a graduate of the Leading Change Institute (2013) and Kincentric Leadership Program (2023-2024). Since 2016, she has focused on developing library spaces and services that support mental health and well-being in an era of climate crisis. In recent years, she has presented talks and workshops on mindfulness and libraries for the Association of Research Libraries (ARL), CLIR Institutes, Hemispheric University Consortium (HUC), Association of Southeastern Research Libraries (ASERL), AMICAL Consortium, and the International Association of University Libraries (IATUL).
