R. Scott Rasmussen is a senior assistant vice president of Advancement at the University of Rochester. He leads a small team that raises the needed funds for the Golisano Children’s Hospital. This is a position he has held for almost 25 years.
He has a bachelor's degree from Rochester Institute of Technology and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Hartford.
He has led many capital projects in his tenure, including the needed $65 million in philanthropy for the new Golisano Children’s Hospital tower. While being known for capital fund raising, he enjoys raising funds for needed endowments and the people and programs that make the hospital great.
Scott is a member of the Rochester Rotary Club and served as president from 2021 to 2022. He is also an advisory board member at the National Warplane Museum in Geneseo. He has served in the US Army, US Army Reserves and US Coast Guard Reserves and many years as a member of the Ski Patrol.
He enjoys being outdoors boating, hiking, skiing and spending time with family and friends.
