Short Description

Our Department of Rare Books, Special Collections, and Preservation is located on the 2nd floor of Rush Rhees Library, and is open to all. The department contains many unique treasures and important collections, with a particular focus on the Rochester area, including the Louise Slaughter Congressional Collection, the Lewis Henry Morgan Papers, papers of Susan B. Anthony and Frederick Douglass, and the Kodak collection. It is also the home of the University Archives. The Department features a regularly-rotating exhibits, and hosts numerous classes, workshops, and lectures throughout the year.
