University of Rochester
Accessibility:
Unfortunately, due to the age of many of the buildings on UR campus, the most accessible paths through buildings can be circuitous. Please reach out to conference organizers for guidance on the most direct and accessible routes to the various conference rooms. You can also consult this map, which is included in the conference program: https://www.rochester.edu/maps/printable_maps/URmaps_RiverCampus.pdf
Accessibility directions for Rush Rhees Library:
Enter Rush Rhees Library via the Library Road entrance (Ground Floor). When you enter the Library, take the elevators directly to your left to the First Floor. These elevators will take you to an area called Gleason Library. Turn right upon exiting the elevators and follow the hallway to Evans Lam Square and Friedlander Lobby. The elevator in Evans Lam Square will provide access to the other conference spaces in Rush Rhees Library.
All-gender restrooms:
All-gender restrooms are located in Rush Rhees Library on the First Floor, in the hallway between Gleason Library and Evans Lam Square. Additional all-gender and single-occupancy restrooms are located in Douglass Commons (2nd floor), Wilson Commons (3rd floor), and numerous other buildings on campus.
Lactation room:
A lactation room is located in Douglass Commons, which is easily accessible from Rush Rhees Library via a bridge on the First Floor. Information about the room is here: https://www.rochester.edu/college/wcsa/student-life-spaces/lactation-room.html. Please contact conference organizers to arrange a key.
Child care:
Arrangements for child care are the responsibility of the caregiver(s). We recommend that you go directly to Care.com, which background checks its care providers.
Quiet rooms:
Humanities Center (Rush Rhees Library) Conference Rooms A and B are designated quiet rooms. They are located on the second floor of Rush Rhees Library.
